The National Juried Arts Show attracts artists throughout Georgia, as well as states across the Country. The annual exhibit is open themed and open to all mediums, bringing a diverse collection from many artists with unique styles and subject matter.
Three expert judges will jury a select number of artworks into the exhibit, and the final group of work will be juried again to arrive at six top pieces that will earn awards and cash prizes. Prizes will be announced at the opening reception on September 2, 5-7 pm. The awards ceremony at the opening reception will be hosted by the Douglas County Art Guild. The cash prizes are sponsored by Miller Architecture and Planning.
This year’s jury panel welcomes three accredited Judges: Nikki Davidson, a professional artist owning Thunder Ridge Studio in Dallas, Ga., trained in California Community Colleges; Valerie Dibble, Professor of Art currently at KSU with a background in printmaking and photography; Shawn Campbell, holding a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Akron and a Master of Fine Arts from UGA. The Exhibit will be on display September 2-30, weekdays 9 am – 5 pm.

The 2021 Fall Festival and Safety Expo sponsored by the Douglasville Police Department is happening on Saturday, October 9, 2021, from 10am – 4 pm at the Douglasville Police Department, 2083 Fairburn Road, Douglasville, GA. 30135. This is a FREE Event with vendors, touch-a-truck, K-9 demonstration, costume contest with prizes, kids activities, and more. This is a rain or shine event. Vendors are needed and cost for space is $25. Vendor Registration deadline is September.

As we continue to find our way out of the dark tunnels of life, we continue facing the lesson of learning to appreciate life while still in the tunnels instead of ever-reaching for the light at the “end” of them. Five photography artists display a collection of work reflecting on the personal theme “Tunnels of Light.” The exhibit will run through the dates October 11 through November 18, weekdays 9-5, with a celebration reception on Thursday, November 4, 5-7 pm. View work by Liz Stubbs, Chris Craig, Stephen Armstrong, Carolyn Meltzer, and Crystal Berry.

Citizens are invited to fellowship together while discussing topics impacting our community. Law enforcement and the community speak on local issues and work together as one for the benefit of the community.

The 5th annual Hunters Harvest Fall Festival and Arts & Craft show at Hunter Park will be held on October 16, 2021 from 11am-3pm at Hunter Park.

This event will feature over 40 vendors from all over West Georgia and Metro ATL with varying arts & crafts and food and beverage items.

The festival will also include a children’s play zone featuring inflatables and other amenities for $5.

Children 3 and under are free inside the play zone.

All festival attendees are encouraged to wear costumes.

This event is free and open to the public.
